My 1100S has to come out early next year to fix the front cam bearing (filling rocker cover with oil) and the idler gears are noisy, so need the bearings/shims done.
I have built a 4 synchro box with 850 diff housing and magic wand lever.
The diff ratio is 2.95:1 for freeway cruising.
I am currently fitting a Maniflow LCB stage II and it has a twin box RC 40 exhaust.
It has a Leyland inlet manifold and HS6 carb.

I was going to replace the cam with something that produces lots of bottom end because of the diff ratio.
What cam should I fit.
Are there any other mods that need to be done while it's out ?.
I'm not going to race it, just want something torquey for the freeway.

The thing about torque is I can't see a cam change alone making that much difference down low with that diff.
Maybe consider changing to a 3.2? It'll be close to a 10% increase in torque over the rev range but still only do 3000rpm on the freeway.
Thats what I have in mine and it's great.

GRs 266ss seems to be producing down that low....
Im not running it yet so can't speak from experience, just the figures he's posted.

How long has the head been on?
How long have the rings been in?
How long has it been since the bottom end was done?
Water Pump? Oil Pump?
Howlong is just out of All Berry/Yadonga

PS Clutch? Timing Chain?

The clutch was changed and the flywheel ground a year ago.
The oil pressure is 85psi cold and 55-60 hot at idle so all is good there.
No rattle in the timing chain but that will get checked/changed when the cam bearings get done.
My service guy reckons the cam is an old fashioned one and there are much better "modern" cams with better talk spread. RE266SS perhaps ?

Whoops , torque
He's very respected in the mini community, so I'm happy to believe him.

Torque to him about doing a compression and maybe leak down test
