i was on my way to a mates 18th in seaford last night. i got off the frankston freeway at the thompson exit, and then turned left into Gladville blv and then coming to the second round-a-bout double shuffling into 2nd, the gearstick went wobbly all of a sudden, i was like OMGWTF, i was spewin. So there i was stuck in Patterson Lakes with some problem with the gear stick. Initally i thought that the bracket that holds the gear stick in and the spring etc had come out or something. Anyways it was 7.15pm by this point, pitch black, raining, windy, and farkin cold. Just this one time i didnt have my tool box in the back, so i couldnt get the lil bracket thing off the rubber gaiter gear boot. So then i remembered i had fark all credit on my phone, which left me to go door knockin. A few people turned me down but a bloke further down the road called RACV for me. This stupid bi tCH on the other end was so stupid, and made me repeat the name of the street numerous times which only frustrated me. I eventually got through this dumbarse, and waited in the car for about 35mins for the RACV dude to rock up. it was about 7.45 by this time. He rocked up, and he was a good block, better than the other stupid racv guys in the past. He got a flat head screw driver and it was the worst feeling waiting for him to take it all off so we could see the damage. and there it was. The gearstick had been cut right off, just like it was cut by a hack saw oir somethign. There was no crunching or ridged touch or feeling, it was very smooth and swift like it hadnt broken at all. So the dude called the tow truck for me within 15mins of inspecting te problem. He then left, and my other mates had seen a mini on the side of the road, they turned around and noticed it was me, and the had PIZZAS, i was like wtf are u fellas doin here, they happened to be goin to the party i never got to last night, anyways, they hanged around till the tow truck came, by this time it was 9.15pm. And it was a relief to see this guy. we loaded the bad boy up and went home back to Highett.
Heres the damage...can someone tell me what type of gear stick you call this??? i know theres different types. remote or something???
thought i'd tell of my lil experience. i thought it was worth tellin
how many other people have had this problem?, does it happen often?, what could have caused this?
so this means im desperate for a gear stick, if someone wants cash or wants to swap for other parts, let me know.
peace
