My happy little 1152 is getting tired... On a hot day oil pressure after a while driving for a while will top out at 45psi at idle will sit at 10psi (1000rpm idle)

Is it time for a full rebuild? Or do I just re ring+ oil pump etc? What other things should be done while out?

Excessive bearing clearance is a main contributor to low oil pressure. Also , engines will wear the bores out in an oval shape so if there is excess piston slap a re-bore may be on the cards.

Matt, if you haven't done it before in the time you have owned, Rebuild, new Pistons/rings/bearings/cam reach head, and gearbox. That way it is NEW, and a known entity, so you know that it won't cause you any unnecessary grief. If you do it cheap, you will end up having to do it again later.

Cheers
Aaron
