Hi All,

Ive been building up a subframe with a minispares 7.5" disk conversion and I decided to change to pot joints at the same time.
But Ive been having no end of trouble trying to match the pot joints with the drive shafts.

My issues is my Leland drive shafts I sourced have 19 splines, but my mini spares pot joints have 21 splines, So they are never going to fit together.
Which parts are wrong and what are the correct parts Im looking for?

I haven't been able to find much info from searching, so this must be a very obvious question, But I am at my wits end!

I believe you will also need to change over the diff output shafts to suit when you switch to pot joints, but others on here know way more than me so let's get that double checked :)

already changed the output shafts and they fit the pot joints, Its the driveshafts that wont fit into the other side of the pot joint/inner CV.

Are you absolutely sure you have got real BMC/Leyland drive shafts? If someone nearby has a stock of spare shafts you might be able to double check against your mating splines.

My spare pot joint driveshafts have 19 splines, still with the inner pot joints attached. I assume you've got the pot joints on the diff already and not around the wrong way? And you have the outer CV's on the right end?

I just took 2 old pot joint shafts and both ends are 19 spline. The inner end fits my new pot joints fine. Shaft ends are different length, but same diameter.

[Edit] sounds like pot joints are wrong- for a Metro maybe?
One reason I buy local now.

(Edit 2, Shaft end details.

I bought pot joints from mini spares when they had their recent sale, the cheaper ones, they had run out of their "super quality" best fit ones. Definitely 19 splines and went onto Aussie clubman axles easily

Take a photo of the pot joint showing the splines and send it to Minispares. I'm sure they will replace them at their cost without you sending them back.
I bought an oil pressure gauge and it did not show any oil pressure at all. I contacted them and they sent me a replacement gauge without me sending the faulty one back.
They do guarantee their merchandise and replace at their cost when necessary.

Disregard this topic, I must have had one two many as I was looking at the wrong end (diff end) of the pot joint.

Move along nothing to see.

I regard to many as when you fall over or takes days to remember what you said or done which I have done many times :)
