Doc, I'm curious to know that with the set up you have, any idea what your 1/4 mile time would be? Cheers Mikal |

Cheers Mikal Sorry, I have no idea, because it also depends on gearing/diff ratio/tyre size/tyre choice/traction/driver ability. One member here [Lillee] did a 15.4 some years ago with a 1310cc Mini K, Mk2 S gearbox, 3.44 diff, RE13 cam, 1.5 rockers, 45 Dellorto, motor made 119.7HP at flywheel on GR's dyno. My car has a few more HP but and a shorter diff but I've never dragged it. YMMV. A stock Oz Cooper S was good for about a 17.8-18.0 1/4 mile time. |

Interesting Doc, what does YMMV mean and do you think a 3.7 diff would make a lot of difference? My query is all about a bet with a mate, as you do. I thought a highly tuned 1275 was capable of high 14's and he disagrees haha! I'm guessing GR's car would do it comfortably but not a road car... Merry Xmas everyone |

Two Group N Historic Cooper S racers did mid-14 second quarters at last November's Geelong Revival sprints. Having an LSD helps heaps with getting off the line smartly. My road-going Grp Nb S has done a 15.1 and this year I ran my Mini Marcos with a warm 1310, no lsd, standard S gearbox with a 3.1:1 final drive and clocked 15.5. |

Thanks Curly, that's good news but I'm guessing they weren't street legal? That'll disqualify me! |
