Hi everyone,
Can someone tell me the difference between 998 and 1100 pistons, I know its in the height, just wondering how much and where you measure from.
Cheers,
Steve

The height is the centre of the pin to top:
1098 is about 1.19"
998 is about 1.33"

Also, 1098 ones have the gudgeon pin offset, 998 ones don't.
And, 1098 ones are shorter on the skirt to clear the dizzy driveshaft.

Hi Kev
The 998 also have the pin offset that's why they have the arrow on the top to face forward.
The skirt length is the same for both but the 1100 ones have the sides of the skirt cut away.

OK thanks Graham, my bad. I've built mainly 1098s...!
I could have been clearer on my skirt description.

Also the Morris 1100 piston is slightly different from the Mini 1100 piston by about .006 " in deck height.

Do the morris 1100 pistons give more or less compression?
