Looking at getting the brakes working and I think my calipers are back to front. The bleed point it pointing down. All modern systems I work on have them up better for air bleed.I have 7 inch brakes. I found pictures of some 7.5 inch calipers and they have the bleed nipple at the top. So should ibe swapping them overs? Or is it a mini thing?
Thanks

Swap them over, the bleeders should always be at the top.

With decent 998 pads and a servo they don't stop bad. Not as good as 7.5s though.

Spotted a bigger issues one has 998 pads and the other 997....
Does anyone know where I can the smaller one machined in Geelong/Melbourne?
I've read that you can machine them to fit the 998 pad.

Actually there is a slight difference between the two calipers can I simply machine the smaller one out?

On the plus side I've changed the front hoses over and now have brake fluid to the calipers!

Send to me I've done them before. They just need the width milled out.

They make performance pads such as EBC Greenstuffs for these 998 Cooper calipers too. It will help to make them perform a little better.

Back in the day I ran them in my `Clubbymatic' with Hardly Ferocious Metal Kings and a VH44J servo.
They stopped pretty well. But don't machine the rotors, they are only .250" thick when new.

Yes, lucky they come new too...
Just not the drive flanges.
