Needing some info on engine installation. My body is almost ready to paint,my sub frames are complete & motor teady to go. What is the best or easiest way to re install the motor? Should I put the motor in the sub frame & lower the body over the lot or install the sub frame & drop the motor in? Thanks for any advice.

I've done it both ways.
Nowadays I would fit the subframe first. Then lower the motor in with some stiff cardboard against the radiator to protect it.
Yes the factory did it the other way, but that was on a production line with jigs to keep things straight.

I did mine by fitting to subframe on a trolley jack and 2 of us lifted the front up while my wife slid the motor underneath.
Was surprised how easy it was.

We have found that our chain block allows micrometer-like precision in either raising or lowering the engine, so much so that we only use rags (sections of old towels, or the like) to protect the paintwork. Raising can be a one man job, but two are better when lowering.
