So here goes; I've got a '76 Mini that I intend to restore/refurbish/modify
in the nearish future. It needs some minor body work and some rust repair
inside the boot before it gets a respray. I've also got a Morris 1100s 1275 engine
mated to a cooper s gearbox to swap out in place of a sub 100,000 km 998 (I'll store
that away). I know I'll need disc brakes on the front after that ahah. I reckon myself,
brother and father could do the motor swap but I'd rather get the brakes done by
a pro. Who would you recommend in WA to do this? The motor is cammed and bored
with a 12g940 head, apparently(ex race car motor so we were told) Any input,
advice and encouragement would be appreciated.

PS I'm a youngish bloke on a fairly low income (though I've been saving my but off) and I'm not impatient... yet.

Advice needed also on what radiator I'll be
needing and what fan. Also the old flares are
pretty buggered so I've removed them. I'm
looking at the ones I need on Minisport but
I'm unsure about what side trim to buy. Also
should I upgrade the starter motor and
alternator?

The Chinese 50mm alloy radiators are quite good. A new yellow plastic fan is all you will need.

Where in Perth are you? There is lots of help/opinions on the perth mini drivers Facebook page. If you're near me (eastern hills), then happy to catch up and swap knowledge.

I'm actually down in Manjimup if you know where
that is. No offense to our mechanics down here but
they just can't work on old cars in my opinion. Any
rough ideas on what a full respray would set me
back? Not after a showcar finish because it's to be
driven but I still want a good job.
