G'day, I finished installing front Fast Road springs and tested it, it is really good, still rips through chicanes just like before only no more crash bang over bumps. Here's my how to, all I got was 4 springs and some blurb written in Japanese so how to mount the spring in the correct place and keep it there. The doughnut was located on a shallow cup welded to the underside of the tower, it is about 105mm so I cut a 100 X 3.2mm circle and bored a 25mm hole in the centre for the large head bolt to go through if it had to, to the 100mm circle I welded an egg ring about 20mm high and the same diameter as in ID of the spring top, painted it and stuck it up in the register inside the tower with silicon. Next day I stuck the springs up under the previously attached 100mm circle and located on the egg ring and held up there with large bits of rag stuffed in the tower. Next came my DIY Hi-Lo's, I made them by cutting a circle the same diam. as the spring small end and bored a 25mm hole in each to take a 60mm long piece of 25mm pipe. I welded the 25mm pipes into each round plate both sides and an egg ring the same diam. as the spring lower ID, also welded 3 webs around the 60mm pipes and painted them so it was time to stick them up into the springs, I used a piece 75mm X 3/4" threaded bar with a hole bored about 25mm for the knuckle pin. You could of course save yourself the bother of making the Hi-Lo's and just make the top locating plate. All that remained to do was present the upper w/bone to the Hi-Lo's containing the threaded bar and nut and slip the axle through, QED. |

G'day, these rather crook pics show the 100mm X 3.2 locating plate up inside the tower and my DIY H-Lo in which you can almost see the 3/4" threaded bar and nut, tomorrow I'll see if I can get a better one, the Hi-Lo has an egg ring on it like the locating plate, Joe. PS Their pretty crude even by my standards, they are pretty agricultural after all. |

G'day, here is a much better pic of my DIY Hi-LO, note there is no bottom bump stop as yet, if anyone knows how to delete and replace a pic then feel free, Joe. |
