Today my mini was running pretty rough. Its an A series engine and was basically coughing and spluttering whenever i put my foot down on the accelerator, however it would run normally when i was driving at a constant speed. Any thoughts on what could be causing this to happen?

Check your plug leads, they may need renewing. Points or electronic dissy? Check coil connections are all tight. SU carb? Check fuel pump and filter too.

Maybe could even be something simple like lack of oil in the carby dash pot.
