HI all! Going to the bigsmoke to look at what I am told is a 71 roundnose with 1100cc engine as the clubbie I was looking at seems to have fallen through.

As a first time buyer can anyone tell me any pitfalls to look out for, and help identifying the car. I have a list of engine & rego numbers but it does not seem to give years. I found a post once in this forum from a pro advising what to look out for in terms of rust etc. but can't find it again

I think there is a rust map type thing on JAMs site.
Just go by general feelings and opinions.
If the owner doesn't know much about it then a lot of work may be needed.
Check for suspicious things like damaged/shifty looking plates, etc.
Air cleaner is a good indication of how well that's looked after.
