Post subject:  Revs check, anyone used it?

Hi all,
I purchased a clubby gt body a while ago and have had a few issues with getting details to be able to register the car. As it was last registered in 86 and the adr plate is missing.

Has anyone used the online revs check before?
What details do they provide?
I am trying to get the last registered registration plate details and engine number so i can move on

Local police checker told me the YG2S8 *** is not long enough to be a body vin

Cheers
Tezza

I use it whenever I buy any vehicle. Let's you know if anyone else owns it or if the previous owner owes fines against it.

Our Minis were built before the 17 digit VIN system came in, so of course it is too short to be a VIN. It is also 10 years too early to be a VIN.
Tell them to wake up to themselves.

Didn't you have the old rego label on the passenger quarter window? The rego number or engine number should have been on there.

There is 6 digits on the rego disk but they cant confirm from that rego disk as its not on their system.
Would need to pay a small finders fee for someone to go though the nsw old paperwork

Did the rest of the car check out ok?
The welding looked a bit rough in the boot for the RH tank bracket and breather pipe tags.
