just wondering wat the stock carburetor is on a 76 leyland clubman s. This mini has only had 1 single owner who was an old lady so I don't think she did any mods on it. But the carby on it is a weber 45dcoe13. Is that normal?

That Weber is way to big for a standard 998 Clubby.
It would have had a 1 1/2" SU with a big round plastic airbox like this one.

Please don't tease the state of the engine it's been in a field for the last 6 years and I'm about to rebuild it. Here's a pic of it.

See if you can take off the airfilter and with a mirror look down one of the throats. There will be a small raised number on the outer edge of the venturi halfway down the carby. A 1275 usually runs a 34-36mm choke. A 998 would be a lot smaller - like 28 or 30. These smaller venturis work better in a 40DCOE not a 45.

Sorry... was just having a bit of a joke re: a little old lady owner but being fitted with a 45DCOE Weber :D
Christine Gibson, Fred Gibsons wife, has long been regarded as Australias most successful female race driver.

She did actually race a Mini in the 1968 Hardie-Ferodo 500. Finished 41st.
