Good find :D

Question: Did even "early" 1100S blocks not have side plates?

None had side plates. 12Y/Ta/H ones were thin sump flange though. And then at least up until 12YD/Ta/H7200 or so.
These motors all had small journal cranks and `S' rods, until around 12YD/Ta/H 10500 approx, when they went to the big journal 12G1505 crank and `lumpy cap' rods.

[edit] typo

Ta is remote shift, H is high compression (but at 8.8:1 not really).

Still a lot about, manual and auto. I have 1of each spare. Auto blocks need oilway mods to use on a manual box. 1300 auto is the same block but number prefix is 12YE/A/H .
