Hi Guys needing help with the correct radiator hose clamps for mid 69 Cooper S. When did the wire type clamps finish? Where might i be able to buy the correct clamps?

Utilux No H510 and 1 1/4" diameter. They are very hard to find. The change over was 67/68 from the wire clamps.

Aftermarket ones are made for the Ford and Holden guys but they are either too big or small and have a thicker section of metal between the straps. https://www.rarespares.net.au/rarespare ... uct=CS1003

Edit- H510 in the catalogue above are different to the ones used on our cars. The correct clamps have raised edges to retain the nut instead of a single tab

Yep the radiator hoses are, but the fuel line clamps have to be wrong, what should a mk2 have for fuel line to carbs?

Yes. Here's my engine bay as it was after more than 20 years in hibernation. You can see the braided lines and clip on the right. The fuel line and clip on the left was done later.

I have NOS green clips from MKO to replace the rusty ones, if that's what you are saying. :?

The wire fuel line clips work a treat actually. I've had them fitted for the last seven years without issue. They're kinder to the braided lines as well as they don't spread and split the rubber boots.

Is there a special tool for putting these on spring clamp things on?

I find them REALLY hard to work with just using pliers, They slip out and it just isnt fun.

Fencing pliers??? They have a groove in each jaw to hold the wire clips..

Changeover was way earlier than that. I believe early 66 is the earliest car I have had with them on it that i believe were original. Was only a deluxe but they were there. So could have even been prior to this.
