Post subject: | How to replace the oil pressure switch?? |
Hi everyone, Another question that has probably been asked a million times before (however my searches didn't turn up anything useful). Is there a simple way to remove the oil pressure switch without having to remove the dizzy etc?? My switch seems to be leaking oil when the car is running, however I don't actually seem to have the room to get a spanner in there to remove the old one. On a side not as well, has anyone had any experience with the new oil pressure switches? The new one seems much smaller than the original that is on there, however I haven't actually been able to get the old one off...so the thread could be the same size. Thanks in advance, Richard |

It should not be real tight, grab the body with multigrips. Or, heat & bend a spanner to fit in there |

Ok, sounds not too bad. The thread is hopefully the same, its just the old switch unit seems so much bigger. Any idea what size spanner? I've gone to the biggest I have lying around but can't find the right one. Maybe I just can't get it on there properly though.... |

I use a special deep socket which I purchased from a cheep tool shop. It was made for the job and works a treat. No need to take any crap out of the way - just the grill if you don't have the correct length extension bar. |

Do you know what size socket it is (just incase). |
