Mine definately won't be the latest, but to give you a start it is YG2S1 2/1970 5410 (from the compliance plate).

Send John Sneddon a pm, he has been compiling a list of K's

The highest number Mini K's I have are YG2S1 13389 and 13390

The post started with YG2S3 which is the Morris Mini 1100 or poverty pack as it is known. The highest number I have in this range is YG2S3 843. I am keen to hear from anyone who has a higher number.

The Mini K prefix is YG2S1.
The fleet model Morris Mini 1100 has the prefix YG2S3.

So if it is a YG2S3 is is a fleet model and they are very rare, I don't have any numbers on them at all. (and that shows how rare they are!)
Could possibly have been made to the middle of 1971.
I bet it has a very low number! Somewhere between 501 and 1000.

Good work!
What does it look like? Dash? Hydro? Gearshift? Trim?

It is a higher number than I expected but it still shows how few they produced. That would be the 1064th one.

That is a very late one. Probably in the last 100.

I was told the sequences of body number ran out in '71.
The manufacture date required to be displayed on compliance shows the month the car was made and not when the the body was made.
They were definitely made in June 71 as mine is dated 6/71.
I was also told by an ex BMC draftsman that there were a few strays made late for staff which mine may have been?

The date on the compliance plate refers to when the vehicle was despatched to the selling dealer ,NOT, when the car was made . There are some K's running around with 1972 and 1973 dated compliance plates
