So as the topic title suggest I have recently acquired 2 minis one is a Morris mini deluxe and the vin plate reads type:yma2s2 car number:5433 engine number 9ya/ta/h 6003 just curious as to what year abouts this would be? the engine in it is a 10ya/ta/h which from looking it up is a morris 1100 motor. Correct?
The other one from what I can understand is no later then 64 because it has original sliding windows and standard rubber cone suspension not hydro. will try to get some pictures up once i get them in my possession and then make a build thread for them in time on the members gallery.

YMA2S2 5433 would be a Jun/July 1965 Deluxe.
Yes 10Y is an 1100cc engine.

did they make a mini deluxe back in 62/63? reason for asking is that the second mini has no vin plate attached but i have been assured that the plate is somewhere in the boxes of parts but i think it may be a mini 850 or plain morris mini minor................ does that sound right in assumption?

Have a look on the firewall behind the carby. There should be a set of numbers.
Also on the top of the radiator support panel there should be a stamping like M2/15.

Body deadner is going to make it fun finding the chassis stampings. Good luck

I suppose the good thing to come out of all of this is that my shed will be cleaned out, wife's been nagging me for months. but when she finds out it wont be clean for very long she wont be happy........ oh well easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission. wife's gonna flip a lid when she finds out but maybe i can persuade her to help me on the resto .......... probably not likely.....
