it is obvious that the Ausmini forum has become not a very nice group to be involved with unless you aligned with the select few.
Any posts made which disagree with the elite will result in your post being censored or deleted.
When a post is made and a select individual is asked to comment upon this post then problems are bound to be generated, and it did.

If some feel this forum is not a very nice place to be involved with then I think the constant bickering and criticism directed at individuals of late has a lot to do with that. If people stuck to the subject matter and discussed and debated the technical content rather than attacking the messenger things would be much nicer.

I have had numerous members contact me to say they are absolutely sick and tired of Ausmini being used as platform for the critical review of another's publication.

Enough is enough - it needs to stop. It's completely unfair that we voluntary moderators have to continually step in to get things back to what most members want - discussion of things to do with our Mini.

It's also unfair that we could be inadvertently involved in legal proceedings as result of defamatory posts.

You are still a registered member so that's entirely up to you, and to what things you decide to post.

Thanks to all the mods for trying to keep us on the straight and narrow and put out those spot fires as the pop up. Your doing a great job. Lets hope you don't get caught up in the court cases.

What I reckon is a pity is that an obvious pi**ing contest between at least 2 members of this forum concerning books etc is starting to affect what is an absolutely fabulous forum for the rest of us "plebs" who are simply trying to find out more about our cars as we do them up and have fun in the process.

For me, I have found the forum members here have helped me out no end when I was restoring Minnie and I would have been lost without their advice and their willingness to share their knowledge. I've learnt heaps and I've also been able to offer a few tips myself on occasion to help out where I could.

I think it would great if the mods of this forum (who are doing a great job) simply delete any posts that start to go off track and get nasty and let the rest of us continue to enjoy what is a fantastic resource for lovers of the mini.

Many thanks for your kind supporting words. The primary moderators are Simon K and myself, together with Mick when he's not overseas serving our country.

We try to be reasonable when assessing whether a post is acceptable or not. What one person thinks is OK another may find objectionable. We are not like a news editor, sitting here reading and approving all items before being published, which means we rely on the good behaviour and common sense of all members to be nice when they decide to post something.

It's really not that hard to be civil when you think about. Just avoid any form of nastiness aimed at an individual, no matter what has occurred in the past or what you personally think of them and stick to the subject matter when discussing, agreeing, disagreeing or whatever. No name calling or veiled nasty comments.

OK, enough of the headmaster words. Let's get back to enjoying the unique membership of Ausmini and the library of documents, ideas and how-to's held here that are entirely for the benefit of we Mini enthusiasts.
