Hi All,
Am about to embark on the journey of fitting 12 or 13x6 inch rims on my mini. Currently I have 10" contessas and want to make it look tougher with the bigger wheels.
Does anyone know of a "How To" guide or a step by step anywhere on here or on the interweb?
Cheers,
Zulu

Step 1: remove old wheels.
Step 2: install new wheels.

Depending on wheel arches you have or the offset of the rim you buy, additional steps may be needed. :)

The trouble is that "tougher" usually means more offset....

So this combined with larger - marginally but it all counts - wheels will probably mean body surgery ...ie cutting away and reforming the front upper section of the front wheel openings...

I have seen 13x6 wheels with 175/50s fitted to an LS with standard guards/flairs. However the owner worked for a wheel shop and customised wheels intended for some other car....

So, yep, maybe...it depends.

Cheers, Ian

I guess what I was hoping for was a guide as to how much I'd need to cut off and how to mark it up etc. I remember them doing it on Project Binky so I'll go back and watch that.
If there is no process or document or YouTube video anyone can think of???

If you fit Rover Sportspack arches there is a guide here, but different arches would require different mods..

Before you go to 12 inch rims research the tyres issue. Depending on your local tyre places there are not too many 12's out there now so you will be stuck with Falkens.

Yokohama in their perpetual short sightedness no longer sells 12" A539s here.
However, Minisport SA has them-

Most people say they are a better tyre than the Falkens.
