Could anyone confirm how the pushrod assembly from a Lockheed Brake Servo (as fitted to the MK1 S) comes apart. I need to replace the shaft itself and am guessing that is crimped in at the bottom where the indent marks are at the bottom as shown in the pic.

Problem solved. It is crimped in.

Now have it apart and can now get new rods machined.

You can buy these new from J&L Spares in the UK at about 30 dollars (exchange). http://www.jlspares.com/sealkits1.htm

I re-chromed my pushrod, and then drilled and pinned the joint as a home fix.

It might be worth considering having them made from stainless rod. The chrome always flakes, rusts and cuts the seal.
I have had some machined down to size at a local engineer.

If rechroming the rod you want 'hard chrome', not decorative. A problem with SS is it is way softer than chrome, it does not wear nearly as well.
