Putting my 997 together and i have a question regarding the regulator wiring, my new loom has the regulator wiring branching from the main harness at the firewall, it then has to run under the fuse box, seem odd to me???

Any pics of original spec setups?

The only reason i can see why they would split the loom at the firewall is if the generator was mounted like the Cooper S. Is that a generic loom to fit both Cooper and Cooper S?

Yes, but clarity is a real issue.

Aren't those loose wires for the back end of the fuse block?

The regulator wires should come from the harness after it emerges from the hole in the bracket adjacent to the regulator, so they attach directly to the terminals of the regulator.

No from Vinwire and is supposed to be for 997 Cooper

Any chance of a picture? Looks like I will need to remove it and send back for modification.

Cheers

From the picture it seems to have a big harness loop behind the Gusset . I might be wrong but is the loom fitted correctly or does it need to go further foreward?

It's in the correct position, the earth wires are bolted to the gusset, and the fuse box wires are in the correct location, plus everything else lines up fine.
