Hi guys. To keep with the origionalty of my restoration [69 Cooper S] I am still looking for four of the origional Utilux type radiator hose clamps in any condition. I bought four NOS clamps that were advertised on US Ebay as 1-1/4" that were a good look alike but in fact they were 1-3/4" which was a shame as they were pretty good. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers. |

I thought two types were used on the Minis around 1969-71 so I checked the latest and most accurate round-nose Mini parts book - PUB1012. You'll see below it says clips HCS913 and SYC11 were alternatives used. Just spoke to John Smidt who is sure both types were used in that era, including on the Cooper S. HCS913 (superceded by GHC913) is the wire type. I have a set of these put aside for use on my car which has much later worm drive stainless steel clips at the moment. MKO has genuine NOS of GHC913 - http://minikingdomonline.com.au/product ... wire-type/ I believe SYC11 is the Utilux flat type that is the subject of discussion by kath20. The Mini K parts book only quotes HCS913, the wire type. The Mini Clubman parts book shows a picture of the wire type with part number SPO202 (see below). Engine bay photo below is from 68Rusty's thread about his amazing 'barn find' and seems to show wire type clips on the top radiator hose, but maybe 68Rusty could confirm this. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=90224 Feel free to comment, especially if you have period engine bay pictures as evidence. I have a full set of the wire type hose clamps, so it appears they may be ok to use in regards to origionality. Cheers. |

viewtopic.php?f=32&t=73881 going on the pic, it appears to have the Utilux clamps ( not the best pic but certainly look like a wider clamp on the pre Mk1 update |
