hey guys, geez, been ages since I posted in here but my mini is once again getting a spurt of energy and money spent on it.

Has anyone replaced a wiring loom, how much was the loom and labour? there is the oroiginal loom in it but seems a little old and the wires are all the same shade of grime. Could a auto electrician do a suitable job with the old loom or am i better off starting fresh?

cheers guys :D

You can buy new original style harnesses from Vinwire on the north coast of NSW, sorry i don't have there contact details anymore, i bought one for my MK2 Cooper S it cost around $350 from memory, my auto electrain mate had a look at it & said he could'nt make it for under $700, so there good value.

Can't tell you, it has'nt been fitted back in the car yet, anyway all the terminals are numbered & a fact sheet tells you where the numbers go to.

Do these repro looms have colour coded wire ala the original looms or are they all the same colour?

The harnesses are as per original, every concourse resto i've seen has one of these vinwire harnesses in it.

I got mine through Northern Mini Spares in Melb . It came from WA (and I live in Brisbane - figure that out  ) Full loom - front and back Cost $300 original colour codes and cloth wrapped as per original. Easy as to put in - feed through the hole in the brace piece near the fuses first before all else

Found their website for all who are interested?!?

Vintage Wiring Harnesses
I even linked it to the Mini section for you. :D

Not bad, but they dont list the clubmans?!?
Anyone know if they are swappable with anything else? (Leyland Clubman S 1975/76)

Cheers,
Adam
