On cold start up, car has a weber, if it stalls whilst warming up on re-start the car with run on like I'm revving it up through the rev range, nothing seems to be hindering the throttle cable, I cleaned and sprayed it wd40, with no difference, the butterfly is closed on re start up, I'm guessing it's getting way to much fuel, but is this normal for it wanting to free rev, each time I kill the ignition and wait a while before restarting

Check the choke lever is not stuck on and Float level. Then do an idle mixture tune.

Some info here. http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j ... p3reQNuVbw

Idle was heaps low bouncing around 400-600 then stalling when cold, was using the throttle to keep it from stalling, I've now raised it to 800rpm, I'm hoping this will solve it? I'm taking a punt that my feathering of the throttle has dumped fuel causing it to flood, but is it normal for it wanting to rev when you restart it, even when the butterfly's are closed, I don't seem to have a vacuum leak

Yes l reckon it's rich but l think it's from my own doing using the throttle to compensate for a low base idle, learning here so I'm happy to be corrected.
