Does anyone know what the number M/7313 that is stamped on my 22G1128 gearbox indicates (if anything)?

The gearbox is fitted to a Moke 1100 motor (10YF/U/H****) and is a 4 synchro remote shift
Cheers

M for moke? 7313 is just a serial number.

Here are some of the serial numbers I have found for the 4 speed, 4 synchro, 22G1128

Mini K = 1234 or 12345 or 5/12345
MK2 S = FAXE 1234
Clubman = 22/1234
Export Moke = 30/1234
Magic Wand = 21/1234

There is a little bit of info here for the UK boxes and it also gives you the laygear part numbers and engine changeover points.

Thanks gtogreen1969
Done some more research and the 1100 motor/22G1128 remote shift gearbox appears to from a late 60's early 70's Moke (as it also has Hardie-Spicer drive shafts). Apparently they came out with this combination until ~1973.
Looks like the M might be for "Moke" then :D
Cheers
Dave
