Hi all
Im installing the 3 pod cluster from the rust bucket into my 77 mini which came with a 2 pod cluster. I have 2 white wires for connection but i dont know what goes where!
Any advice appreciated.

The white wires are usually ignition/power supply to the cluster.
The below image is from a later model. Hope it helps.
I also have the Haynes version in the garage which I can take a photo of in the morning if you like.

Don't the white wires run through the tacho?
12V from the ignition switch through the tacho then to the coil +.

Yes that and the cluster for the alternator charge light.

So I found the following.
Pre 76 1275 GT (toggle type switches or rocker type)
& 76 onwards clubman & mini 1000 saloon with three gauge cluster.
See if these help.

There are two different types of Tachos on Australian Mini. Early one is the Loop type and later type senses from the neg side of coil.\

Unfortunately, my brain has a lot of trouble when it comes to electrics so sorry if it's a bit of a 'duh' question but assuming the pod is a later style ('76) and I have two white wires on the harness, where exactly do I connect them?

I had a 77 Leyland with a 3 gauge cluster. Here is a photo of the 2 white wires going to the tacho.
