A quick Q, is the right Mk1 Cooper S White or Black - the speedo holder under the screw on dash surround (I have both colours, the speedo is on the white one but I just want to check).

Cheers

Dan

My '66 S has a white shell that holds the actual speedo head - a bit fragile/cracked too.

Thanks Bill. Yep the white one is pretty fragile and the black one looks more robust.... I think the black one was on a panel van I had back in the 90's.

Cheers

As long as you have a firewall blanket and can't see it from under the bonnet it doesn't matter.

Bought a complete set of Mk1 binnacle, brackets, guages and speedo housing from England a while ago and the housing was black and still in great condition.....

Firewall blanket answers the question....... :D
