Hi Dave, there has been a bit of discussion on this topic several times. Click on SEARCH and type in DOOR SPRING, toggle through the blogs. Reasonably easy job though.

I bought my kit (for sliding window doors) from Minisport in Adelaide. They provide the installation instructions.

Because the snail spring fits externally to the original mechanism you don't need to drill out rivets etc that hold the original door latch together...

It is for windup windows though,
you can get the springs from minisplus in Victoria through there website
