There are lots if you look.. FWD..RWD . Multi speed sequential gearboxes are an advantage ... but not many bikes have reverse ..but there are options. Cheers, Ian |

Hey there Mini09, I was looking into this a while back, as an option. still might do it one day ![]() Both these kits use the Yamaha R1 (998cc) engine from the late 1999 -> Early 2003, after this the motor changes it size and doesn't fit under the bonnet. Both kits advise adding disc brake system as you are putting a 140-160 hp engine in the place of one giving 37 hp. Try this kit, come with new sub-frame (advantage is a mechanical reverse driven from bike engine via special box) bike engine faces rearwards, carbs to the front, requires plumbing radiator to the other side. http://www.pro-motive.co.uk Try this kit as it has no or little modification to mini sub-frame, the kit bolt on bolt off (reverse is optional via a converted electric starter motor) bike engine faces forwards exhaust forward, allowing use of existing radiator. http://www.lynxae.co.uk Z-Cars is supposed to be getting back up and running but this has yet to be seen. You could also try making your own Aussie custom sub-frame like the V-Tec and Suzmini guys! Hope this helps. |

Quote: Vetech are pleased to announce that the price for the Vetech Hayabusa engine conversion kit base unit will start from £11,600 + VAT for the base unit. A donor Suzuki engine needs to be sourced by the customer (left-over engine housings and components can be re-sold after conversion). Holy ****** moley!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Just what the fook do you get for GBP12k+?? And you still have to source a donor engine!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They do seem to have taken the most expensive approach to doing this - they have designed a new set of engine casings that will accept most of the Hayabusa components, but incorporate a diff, reverse gear, etc along with all of the elements needed to package it up as a replacement for the A-series. Even once you have sourced your donor engine, and paid for the kit then you will still need to do a full rebuild of the motor to replace the engine casings. |
