Hi All,

I wasn't able to find a "how to" for converting sub frames from hydro to dry... does anyone know if there is one?

or Is anyone able to give me a step by step on what needs doing please?

Have you thought of or considered using Modern "MST" Coil spring conversion? Made in Japan. A friend of mine imports them. They are the worth while way to go. It is very hard to persuade people especially when there are "Old school" persons who knock them without having even tried them. The ride is unreal and so smooth. Takes all the Harsh bumps out of the Mini suspension and make it feel like a modern car. My sore back loves them.

Yes I was sold on them... but I hear they can dislodge unless the car is raised and id like the lowest ride height possible, I guess with the rubber cones I can have it as low as i like without worrying about them dislodging... albeit they might bottom out etc but I can tweak them back up I guess.

You can stop springs (of any type) from falling out by using a tether to stop the arm from dropping past the point where the spring becomes loose. Easy to do. :wink:

They replace the cones yeah?

Yes MST springs replace the Rubber cones. They are actually the same height as the Rubber cones and need to be used with Hi lows. If springs dislodge when arm drops so should Rubber cones. I have them on my cars and so many people I know have fitted them and love them. I think the term that springs can dislodge is a term used by people who have not used them so how can they talk?

mm well I have started gathering parts, for when I actually get a house with a garage to put her. I have the start of the hi-lows, what sort of dollar figure are the springs?
