Rick
Are You looking for the screws that hold the Piano hinge to the body
or are you looking for the screws that hold the catch to the body

If you mean the 2 screws holding the catch (not the ones on the piano hinge to body):
raised head (countersunk underneath, slightly domed top) pozidrive 8gg x 3/8 inch.
I think they might have been chrome finish - can't tell from mine.
Sometimes the original screw becomes lose and is replaced by a 10gg screw.

I've tried some 4 guage countersunk screws in the piano hinge, but they were to small. Would it be ok to use 6guage countersunk screws? Or would they sit to proud in the hinge

When I said "4 gauge" it was more of an uneducated guess...
Sometimes I have found the hole has become too big and the original screw pulls out. Go to 6gg and if it is too proud (which I doubt will happen), tap it with a pin punch and hammer. A short piece of wire inserted into the hole before the original sized screw is fitted might also help.
