it looks like a MK1 S type, except for the control panel on the front and the hoses coming out the wrong side... |

That Certainly look like the one, I guess I will try and fit it and then I think taking the hoses over the top should work. hopefully the angles wont be too much. Steve |

Sometimes there are holes in the l/h side and you can pull heater apart and turn the core around |

Yep, weird isn't it? That model is the same as Moke's from the 70s and Rover minis until they went to the plastic body version. Tuck the hoses up behind it while pivoting up into position. M |

Thanks guys, There are no holes in the left side, that would have been good if there was. Hey Kiwi where did the hoses go when you fitted yours, they might get a bit close to the clutch pedal if the bend is too big as well. Did they make left hand drive Minis? How would the clutch work with such a long hose to the slave cylinder? Steve. |

Flying Brick wrote: Did they make left hand drive Minis? How would the clutch work with such a long hose to the slave cylinder? Steve. The flexible clutch hose connects at that same point for LHD and RHD. On LHD there's a long brake pipe from the master cylinder across to the firewall bracket. |

This is how BMC designed the brake and clutch pipes to accommodate steering from either side. I'm not aware that any LHD Cooper Ss (YDO6) were produced in Australia. Anyone know? Attachment: AYG5235 Arrangement Brake Clutch MC and pipes subset.jpg

Thanks guys, but you missed the important word AUSTRALIA in my question. ![]() I've spoken to someone who worked there and would know, and he thinks no LHD Minis were actually assembled at Zetland even though the engineering work was done in case it was required as part of a Special Production Order (SPO). |
