Hi, today i pulled out my dials and noticed that somehow the tracks have been broken in some places (probobally by me and my dumbass ways), how do i fix this? it is from a 78 model clubman s...oh and how do i get the top of the dash off? i have removed the four bolts and tried pusing pulling lifting it?...and suggestions?

it's a dodgy fix, but a few of my tracks broke as well. what i did is basically follow them from point to point, i.e. bulb to bulb. take a bit of electrical cable (22 gauge or so) and strip and spread the ends. when u clip in the bulbs tuck the wire in with the bulb-bezel and u will effectively replace that track.

like i said, it is dodgy, but it works well. i have had mine like that for a while now. after all, it is electricity and you can trick it :D

mmmm that is a good idea. I repaired one once with tin foil and glue. The wire idea is better I think.

You might be able to get a newie from the UK. I once saw a brand spanking 3 gauge set sell for $25 complete with dials!! (new old stock)

re: top dash rail - I had to remove the front screen to get mine out. Same as you, I tried everything and it would not move. Took out the screen (I was going to do this anyway) and it lifted straight up and out!!
