I have used them for years they are brilliant. If you use any other type of wire brush they won't be as good. I've used most and these are brilliant almost evil. You won't be disappointed. Please use glasses or full face shield because they will spit wire. Once you've removed the paint and rust use either Protec 971 bare metal conditioner or Deoxdine. I use Protec 971 because my local auto paint place stocks it. Deoxdine is a brand name version. They contain phosphoric acid and will clean any remaining rust left. Just dilute as per instructions or use neat for super great results. Then rub into the surface with course wire wool. Yes it's acid so use nitrile gloves don't panic it's not that bad. Then paint as normal. It is worth chasing down either of these products because they are good. Getting rid of rust isn't hard, even the thickest and worse rust can be removed using this process. First mechanical removal then chemical removal.

I use a wire wheel and diluted Phosphoric Acid-works a treat!

Sorry never used Sepetone. Deoxdine and Protec 971 are considered professional products and are generally not available from high street stores. Sepetone rust converter seems expensive compared to what you pay for Protec. I think I paid $20ish for a litre bottle and it did a complete restoration and odd paint work jobs for years afterwards. Look for your local trade auto paint supplier they are a wealth of information and can supply stuff that Supercheap have never heard of. Both of these products are phosphoric acid based bare metal conditioning products.
