Ive got a motor lying around from a project thats yielded a few go-fast bits, but I cant identify anything else on it. Its a van engine 998 {99h889aj} how do i identify if its a better head? And how do you check an lsd on a mini?

If I'm carrying on like a pork-chop, I'm having a great time.

If I go very quiet there's a very good chance I broke something.

hold one output shaft (coming out of the diff)
& turn the other

if it turns easy then it`s probly a std diff

the cyl head casting number (take rocker cover off & look on top face of head) will tell you what head it is
