Oh my, I have been waay off with my pressures. Ive been having 36 psi on all tyers  New to minis, only owned my Leyland for under a year so shall keep this handy. For my own learning, why do we have different pressures for the front and rear? I also drive a golf GTI which is front wheel drive and the factory recommends same pressure on all wheels. Just curious. Thanks |

Just to confuse things, below is a page from the black covered factory workshop manual TP832C, and a page from drivers handbook TP828A. Note that the standard Mini specifications are for cross-ply tyres, some tubed some not, while the Cooper S and Clubman GT have radial ply tyres. I've run 38 psi in every tire on every vehicle I have owned and never had any issues. The best way to check if you have the right tire pressure is to look at the wear on them, from a quick google search this gives a good description - https://www.kaltire.com/whats-causing-y ... tire-wear/ |

I use 32/30 for my Yoko's, have been for years. Don't remember where I got those numbers from but I get good performance from my tyres and have no unusual wear issues. If I dropped the pressures a bit I guess the ride might be a little better but would it be noticeable? Who knows.. |

tyre pressure is a very complex thing that changes consistently if you want to get it right eg on my track bike i run 26r 24f Hot which is around 22r 20f Cold but depending on the day weather track temp how hard i'm pushing it the cold temps change ] When we track our Porsche we are looking for 36 Hot front and rear on semi slicks my road bike I run 30 psi same type of bike as the tracky but driving on the road my tyres don't get hot hence don't heat up the air in my tyres to increase the PSI My 4by off road I run as low as 12 psi but when towing as high as 45 psi so in the Mini I run 32 psi seems to work for day to day driving not too much flex, not to soft and not to hard |

More than half or the tyres I have changed over the years as a mechanic have been from under inflation. I always pump my tyres up with at least 2 psi over the recommended. Then watch the tread wear pattern and adjust as necessary. |

I have Pirelli Scorpion's on my BT50 and need to run them at 40psi to get good tread wear. Normally get 100000klms out of them at that, driven hard. With big loads I increase to about 45psi. |
