Just a basic after market pod, with a nice shiny smiths. Just looking at mounting ideas next to the 2 guage "clubman" "pod", alternatives from drilling a big dirty hole in the rail.

Usually people with Clubmans use the three gauge dash?

I like tachos mounted to the steering column, rather than on the dash, as long as they're not in the way of the other gauges and dash lights

I assume your car is a clubman?

Most people just get a triple guage cluster for a mini S/LS/SS/GT

if you want to be technical its a "Clubman" 78 Mini S (as the Clubman name was removed by this time). I was thinking about the 3 gauge but wanted something different.

I fabricated a flat bracket that was sandwiched between the parcel shelf and the steering column bracket, so no holes drilled. The other end had a hole to accommodate the pod. Just used a piece of cardboard as a template to get the length and bends in the right place. That was 40 years ago so no pictures, sorry. Of course the steering rack u-bolts were slackened first so as to avoid strain on the steering pinion.

It was a bit like this bracket I fabricated for the Police speedo.

That is an interesting one, what secures it to the ash tray hole?
