I am getting the 850 body ready for a coat of paint, and want to keep it original to the era - 1962. Did the Aussie 850's (and Cooper's) have a layer of sound deadener or body Schultz inside the guards and under the floor pan, that was then covered in body colour? |

Yes. Most of the underfloor area and most of the upper guards were coated in a thick bitumous layer and then painted body colour. |
