Post subject:  Double Row chain sprocket issues

I have a 998 Engine that I am in the process of rebuilding.
The double row timing chain kit I got from minispares appears to be out of alignment quite a bit.
I have read that usually the small sprocket needs shimming up to bring it out but in my case it seems to be the opposite and without the shims the small sprocket seems to need about 0.011 thou to be turned down off it.
Or can the large cam sproket be shimmed ?
Bearing in mind that I am thrusting the cam ( pushing the cam into the thrust plate ) to get this measurement otherwise it ( the small crank sprocket ) would need even more than 0.011 thou removed.
Any help with this would be appreciated

You could try a much thicker front-plate "Gasket" to help pull the cam & cam gear out further

Being a machinist I would machine the .011" off the back of the crank sprocket. I can't see any downside.
