Post subject: | Which Steering Boss. |
I have 3 after market steering wheels, 2 in good condition, other needs repair, they came with some other bits. There is no marks or names on them, they appear to be aluminum or alloy of some type, they have 9 fixing holes and measure 78mm across the hole for the boss. How do I find out which steering boss will fit them, it is not a Motolita, too big at 88mm across the mounting flange. Have been looking but most boss's being sold do not give mounting flange width that I could find. Any help appreciated. Graham The wheels have a PCD of 96 to97mm |

Post a pic? I bought an odd wheel, looks like a moto Lita but is not. Roughly 100mm PCD (diameter between holes). 9 holes. I was told the motolita boss on minispares website would fit, though I haven't bought it yet and tried it out. |

Thanks for adding the pics. Moss Europe might be able to help. They've got a lot of bosses and know their stuff. |

Thanks for that information Jon, the Formuling wheels that I can find on the web look similar, but hubs seem to be a problem, only ones that I could find on e-bay were in Austria and the description was vague. It seems like these are wheels from a few years ago as most hubs were secondhand and seemed to be mostly used in the VW brigade. Might have to go and look at some hubs locally and see if they can be modified to fit the wheels. Graham |

The pcd might be 100mm as you can't measure one directly opposite? There are kits to swap from 6 bolt to 9 bolt 100mm e.g. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/9-HOLE-STEER ... 1299451251 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/STEERING-WHE ... 1299451251 9 hole boss http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mountney-Tra ... Hiya Late Mokes used Formuling wheels. I might have a boss kit you can have. I'll check. If not you can buy them from overseas (UK?) eBay for about $90. Cheers Jon |

Tim, did consider that problem, but it is about 96 to 97 mm either way. The Motolita boss PCD is bigger again and the wheel will not fit over the centre, so that is out. Jon, Would be interested in a boss kit if you have one, I am getting confused as Mini Kingdom has a boss for a Formula, but not a Formuling wheel that was also apparently fitted to the Moke. At present I have 2 good wheels and no hub, so I either have to get a hub or get rid of the wheels, the other half likes the wheels. Graham PS Have got it sorted, the Mountney boss is 98% correct, just need the mounting hole in wheel be enlarged 1mm to be a neat fit and S/S countersunk screws. Thanks all for the assistance.
