Yes, I have just replaced mine. Will send you a photo tomorrow. Is the bit you found on your sump hollow? I just measured a link in the chain I have and it was 6.25 mm diameter - what is the diameter of your bit? |

Image of timing chain link as requested - the pin that does through the roller is about 3.2 mm diameter and is dimpled on each end Attachment: IMG_8038.JPG - might be the bit you found. The roller is larger (6.4 mm roughly) The pin is not stepped on the end - after installing in the link, it looks like it has been punched in the centre to flare it out slightly yo hold it in place I can send you my old chain if you want otherwise it's going in the bin - my new chain cost me just $10 so it may be just as cheap to buy a new one to compare. Can send other pics if you need them Neil |

If you think it's a timing chain pin, don't run your engine because the timing chain could break and that would be a disaster. This is what happened to am MGF which broke its timing belt - yes, that's a valve embedded in the top of the piston |
