Post subject: | project, what to look for |
Hi everyone, I am going to look at a new project in the next few days. Its a 1963 deluxe. Sitting 28yrs, blew a hole in the piston 28yrs ago and hasnt moved. Has been dry stored. Other than obvious rust ect , what else should I be looking for in one of these? Do they have compliance plates? Im not fussed by mechanicals as it comes with a spare engine. Has a few dents in the roof apparently from young kids standing on it, but rest is straight. Any tips before I go look appreciated ![]() Cheers, Steve |

Roof dents will pop out, my Matic was a garden ornament for 8 years and copped the same. Check the dates, as I don't think Deluxe started until ~1965. But if it's an 850 with good body it's just as good. |

Will do, where abouts are the dates on these, will they all have a compliance plate or stamped body somewhere? Cheers, Steve |

Behind the master cyls there is an ID plate and chassis number stamped just below it. YMA2S2 is a deluxe. Just post up the car number and we can give you an estimate of the date. |
