Okkher so tell me hows much you would expect to pay for one to be reconditioned and installed and the system bled and done up whatever.

I gots me a quote for 270 bucks all installed and fine today. So ive got to consider that - or just drive around with only a handbrake?

Is that a fair price?
Cause im sure it wont get much better?
A bloke rang up for me and said a brand new one would be abot $470 so i said go away

I was enquiring about one today.

They said about 140 or so for just the cylinder.

So an extra $100 may b worth it for you to pay someone else to do it for you if u cbf doing it all ureself.

bugger it,
its going in on monday for a tuesday start, and with a bit of luck il have it back friday?

the only trouble is getting there? it better not rain

but probably its just like a bike, they dont go much more than 50 kays they arent big, and can get of the road, and im not big and i can too, and the brake capabilities are maybe the same

so ill have a go and hope they can give it a fix, and i can have brakes again :D

and with a bit of luck the job will work and ill have some brakes again

i am going to leave for work 15 mins earlier just so i can nurse it ( ME  ) to the destination, so i dont have to try anything stupid, but all i know is the road is basically deserted when i go on it 8) so thats a relief
and it had better not rain
cause otherwise im well cheesecaked

Yours is the twin system brake master cylinder though... not those easy to get single ones!

okkher so i made it all safe 8)
yep you can come cruising now 8)
where would you like to go  but it will be fun

Just thinking back, ive had mini for over 18 months, and for so long it was my only car, and i used to drive it everyday, for about 2-3 months? Its unbelievable to me now, i cant even remember back to Dec, Jan and going out and hopping into the mini every morning  :? I just cant comprehend doing it anymore. :?

Its such a strange thought now,
but its also such a monster, and with brakes it gives you so much freedom, and allows you to 'do' things, rather than not, so restricting.

but that is all, unbelievable is the mini 8)  :!:
goodnight

So i go in there this arvo cause i need to get a torch that i use when i drive the mini  , and i left it in the car, and i need it for mornings so i can find the newspaper at end of the lane.
so i go in there and then i ask about my othe rproblems, said i should have asked before , but now i am getting me my ball joint fixed, and a wheel alignment. So that will be fun
Paying a real high price?? but who cares  :?: ME :(

but it should all be ready sometime on thursday , which was a quick go.

the list
Recond Master cyl, install bleed adjust, Lower ball joint and wheel alignment? hmm
not a big list about 420 dorra?? :? but thats what happens?

right
so here is the oldie ( i mean in the old state, it just got reconditioned? new sleeve? wahtever that is  )

WHAM
Image
gee that was filthy
i cant believe it  :? that cant have been good :?:
but

:P
Image
UNBELIEVABLE  8)
hmm
maybe that one next to it needs a go too

but here is the bill
Image
hmmm
2.5 hours  :?: :?: :?:
But in the end
they didnt need to do a wheel align so that saved about 120 bucks so that was a pleasant suprise when i picked it up today.

But YAY they work
The bloke said all they could get was half a pedal?? but i suppose thats alright?
and apparently the rego inspector guys who looked at my mini to test for roadworthy, they said it would fail cause the brake lights no work.
so i was wary of that and had only had a few drive with no lights
BUT?
here me thinks no lights. i even today after picking up mini ask a bloke at the servo if i had lights and no i didnt. BUT when i reverse into the shed today, back up to wood, there is brake light glow. the brake lights only work when car is on, and the rego blokes didnt know that. Yet they would fail me for it  ??
but that was strange

Good

happy crusing again for me

brakes really give you so much more freedom while driving, its unbelievable also. Driving with no brakes is so very restricting and annoying,
