So I believe miquain57 still has his 1275 up for sale, I think its set up for a remote box, but he would include the rod change housing.

now to the Question I thought that there was a mechanical difference in how a remote box changes compared to the remote boxes, How much would I need to change? or would I be better off waiting around and sourcing another power unit.

either change shifters or boxes. they are not compatable at all.

change gear shift assy, pretty easy really

remote 'boxes usually have a much nicer gearshift feel... it's easy to mount the rear bracket for remote change under the floor, just 3 holes to drill

I thought the actual internal gear change mech. was different??

I think he means change the car to suit the box?

And you need to change axles if swapping between Hardy Spicer and pot joints. (and the rubber cross use the same as Hardy Spicer)

Ideally I would keep pot joints, What I meant was the actual internal mechanism was different?? I may be wrong. REading and research time.

Yes, internal gear selection is quite different.

Remote/magic wand - gear change lever (15) moves the selector rods (8, 9, 10)

Rod change - the interlock spool (18) moves the bell cranks (20, 21, 22)
