Well today was "Fit the new MED 1.5-1 Rockers day"
Well like usual it didn't go to plan
When i went to set the clearances i found 1 inlet valve was a little bit too short above the collet
Result was the new rocker was fouling the spring retainer before it would touch the valve
So when the valve went to open the rocker was pressing on the spring retainer first
So its off with the new and back on with the old till i sort out another head to go on
These sort of things make me want to scream

I put a set on a mk1 S head and had to pack them up 2mm to get adjustment

I think two sets of the 1.3 mm shims from minispares etc) did the trick for me in getting geometry better if you are looking for a bought solution ... but i had to grind the angles a little further back into the shim for better all round clearance ..

Both GR and Minis Plus have shims in 1.0 and 2.0mm.

Everything else was fine
just that 1 inlet valve
i measured it and it was 0.030" shorter than the other 3
Was thinking of a stem cap to bring up the height
Dont want to shim up the pedestals as the rockers were near horizontal
But now i will leave it until i get another head ready and make sure the stem heights are correct

So don't you just need one new inlet valve ?

You Can try using Datsun lash Caps on top of the Valve stem to give you more Valve length perhaps.

Darsun 1200 I think, they have 7mm valve stems.
