Gday I know with Cooper s oil pumps the slot drive shaft is longer. Is this the same for all 1275s? And also what happens if you have a spider drive cam? Is the shaft on that longer as well if going into a 1275 ? Thanks fellas and gals |

Yes the pump recess in the block is shallower on all 1275s except automatics. If you have a spider drive cam you just use a spider drive pump. Ditto for a slot drive cam. To use either of these pumps in an S block you need to drill and tap one hole, 1/4" UNF. (Edit) Cooper S pumps are very expensive now. You can convert a pin drive cam to slot drive by TIG welding an adaptor into it. Then use a 1275A+ slot drive pump. |

So just to clarify doc if I have an 1100s block I still need an extended shaft on the pump regardless of the whether it's a Cooper s block or not? And can you buy spider drive oil pumps that have a longer shat than ones on small notes? Cheers |

Cheers If you have an 1100S block with a spider drive cam, you need an 1100S spider drive (splined shaft) pump, or use a 1275A+ pump and a DrMini spider adaptor. This converts a spider drive cam to use the slot drive pump. The terms `long shaft, and short shaft' only really applied to the Cooper S (long shaft) and the 850-997-998-1098 (short) which all used pin drive pumps. Here's the 1275A+ slot drive pump and a spider adaptor. Karcraft stocks them, or contact me. ![]() And as I mentioned above, a pin drive camshaft converted to slot drive. Before TIG welding the (re-machined) spider adaptor in. ![]() |

I have a spare spider drive pump but haven't got a cam as yet. Was thinking of having a chat to GR about that. If I get a spider drive cam will my pump fit straight away or will it need modding? |

Fits straight in. But you need the standard 1100S spider for your splined shaft pump. Not sure if still available new, except from http://www.aptfast.com in USA. But I have a good s/h spider here, yours if you need one. (Edit) 1100S spider is on its way. |

Or,,, you can just buy a late "Spade-Drive" type camshaft, then simply fit the late 1275 hi-vol spade-drive pump & bolt them both in easy-peasy |
