Seems to be a bit of controversy on sand blasting or dipping, In MY OPINION sand blasting is the best and the cheapest. Just ask the sandblaster if he has done a car body ,he will probably say yes. they take great care when doing car bodies, using the correct blast media for cars. The panels will not be damaged. TELL them no damage please, Sand blasting will work harden the panels, no real problem a body file will not file the panels as good because of the hardened panels. You can use a disc sander 80 grit disc and the usual hammer dolly technique. Also if you remove any proofcote or body deadener the job will be much cheaper the grit will bounce of these rubberized compounds, very labor intensive for the sandblaster. Use a metal scraper and butane torch to remove body deadener. Dipping is great for panels alkaline dip is mostly used. If you get a car body dipped ask the manager if any of the liquid they use will seep out of the spot welded .panel joins. It is up to you to investigate the best method for yourself. Bolt the mini onto a box trailer to deliver the car, run some 75 50mm timber under the floor use original floor holes and bolt to the top edge of box trailer. This makes it easy for the blaster to move the car around should be no damage. After the car is done use a 2 pack epoxy primer asap on the whole body .If you have to use body filler on the body scuff the area with 220 grit. I like to use the soft fillers for various reasons. You can use paint stripper if you don't have much to do don't forget to wear safety glasses. Certainly dipping has worked for numerous people as it also has some advantages over blasting, you can do inside of some panels where a blaster cannot reach.etc
