which bit of the dash? the gauge cluster or the top pad?

haven't taken the dash pad off a clubman in 20 years, but there are 2 nuts to be removed at either end, accessed from underneath

Haven't done it myself, but from what I've seen posted in the past you benefit yourself by removing the windscreen to do this job

I agree about the windscreen... I think you can remove it with the windscreen in place but its a pretty brutal affair ripping it out past the rubber seal at the bottom of the screen. I'm pretty sure I removed the screen last time... (it was quite a while ago....).
